Robert Half Technology Sr. Business Analyst - eCommerce in San Antonio, Texas

Our client is expanding their development team and they need an additional Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will work within IT project teams and be responsible for eliciting requirements from stakeholders, analyze the requirements, document them in BRDs (business requirements documents), and create functional specifications; and work closely with technical staff to ensure requirements are understood and delivered to the business. The Business Analyst will elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis, and critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. The Business Analyst should be able to proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and requirements as well as utilize their experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required. The right individual will be able to work independently with users to define concepts and under collaboration with project managers, drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans and serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow. The Business Analyst should have a minimum of 6 years of strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. The Business Analyst should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts in addition to strong Project Management skills (No certification needed), experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and technical writing or writing business requirements. The Business Analyst should have the proven ability to organize and structure business and technical requirements specifications, story boarding and UML, understand or have worked in ASP.Net (VB/C#) environments and the understanding of Software Development Lifecycle process as it relates to Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies. The Business Analyst must have excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in addition to the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
