Perform daily check calls with Graebel fleet, in compliance with the check call process. Assists with driver relations regarding concerns, needs or complaint resolution. Interacts with all members of the Central Dispatch team, branch agent personnel, and
Ensures driver adherence with governmental, DOT and Graebel standards and policies. Interacts with all members of the Central Dispatch Team, branch agents, and independent contractors in order to deliver quality service. Informs drivers of status regardingcurrent inspections, physicals, driver's license and annual review of driving record.
Updates and verifies computer "Driver Trip" screen for each check call while confirming I/C's current location, activity and next check call location; Issues all driver and equipment messages. Verifying information in the computer reflects information receivedfrom the driver and documents in "Trip Comments" screen all move ID's once orders are given. Insures 100% accuracy with all check calls and all information. Assists with driver relations regarding concerns, needs or complaint resolution. Relays all shipmentinformation to the driver, including but not limited to: origin and destination information; move dates; estimated weight, cube, and net linehaul; dispatch remarks; and ServiceTrac information.
Monitors the progress of shipments and assists in resolving any potential/current service issues. Coordinates shipment changes and authorizations to booking agents for accessorial charges, ensuring a follow-up call to booking agent is place 1 day afterno response for accessorial authorization.
Maintains accurate departmental records in order to document operations including service discrepancy and trip refusal forms are accurately completed. This includes but not limited to On- Time monthly reports, APU reports, ASO reports, Special Compensationagreements between Region and IC, Military reports, Watchlist reports, GFI trip cards.
Prepares and distributes all Critical Changes to appropriate personnel insuring 100% accuracy in communication of changes to all appropriate personnel. Responds to After Hours emergency calls as necessary. Interacts with Central Dispatch personnel/agentsconcerns all SIT shipments.
Responsible for any special projects as assigned and deemed necessary by the President of GVL, VP of Central Dispatch, or Regional Operations Manager.
Performs other related essential duties as assigned or requested.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCES
High school or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.
Typically possesses 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge DOT regulatory agencies and their guidelines and procedures helpful.
General knowledge of PCs, Windows and Microsoft Office software.
Develops solutions requiring analysis and research. Responsible for critical work and/or complex projects performed within a broader technical and business context.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures and numerical data.
Ability to write simple reports and general business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
