Volt Workforce Solutions has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking candidates for the Engineer position for our client in the Midwest.
Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes.
Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
3 to 5 years engineering experience required.
Skills and Competencies:
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
Team player and detail oriented.
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
Troubleshoot machines and equipment to reduce downtime;
Revise system software where necessary to prevent downtime;
Investigate maintenance related issues and recommend solutions;
Coordinate equipment maintenance and systems integration;
Manage/lead maintenance resources performing maintenance and repairs
Program Fanuc robots to meet system requirements;
Assure systems compatibility for control equipment;
Design industrial control circuits;
Verify equipment and systems effectiveness and recommend revisions or purchase of new equipment;
Mark up industrial controls drawings and coordinate with drafting to complete revisions;
Ensure proper placement of service material and equipment;
Prepare documentation and lead compliance to a planned maintenance program;
Determine building requirements including utilities, water, sewer, electrical, hazardous material requirements, etc.;
Assist in the design of building changes;
Work with internal plant customers to define system requirements;
Solve problems on the line. Making adjustments to broken parts and materials. Sometimes answering questions.
Resolve assembly line issues related to the plant's industrial control systems. Core hours 6 am - 4:30 pm for four days a week.
Previous experience troubleshooting and programming Siemens PLCs and HMIs;
Previous experience in equipment diagnostics and systems integration
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
