Engineering Entry Level Opportunities

This entry level role – which is part of the Verizon Campus Program – will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm. You'll be front and center, hands-on and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive. You will put your degree to use and gain experience in a new field through on-the-job training.

Along with our software engineering and operations teams, Verizon's innovative network engineers provide widespread, reliable network access and security. Join our team and help meticulously design, monitor, maintain, test, analyze, troubleshoot and repair the network that best serves our customers.

In this role, you may have the opportunity to work on one of the following teams:

Systems Performance and Optimization

Project Management

Equipment Engineering


Network Device Evaluation

Network Implementation Project Management

Network Operations Center

Network Systems Performance

Radio Frequency Design/Performance and Engineering

Data Analysis

You may also have an opportunity to be a part of the Technology Verizon Leadership Development Program (VLDP), instead of joining one of the above teams longer-term. In this program, you will participate in three, one year rotational assignments across three different US geographies and functions. If you have exemplary leadership skills and experience and are interested in moving functionally and geographically over the course of three years, the VLDP program may be for you.


Must have:

Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Data Management or related majors at an accredited college or university with a completion date by June 2017

High proficiency in MS Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ideally, you’ll also have:

3.0 GPA or greater

Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management and attention to detail

Strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment

Exposure to one of the following skillsets:

Understanding of computer hardware and Windows OS

Familiarity and understanding with programming in excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, C#, Oracle, Pearl, SQL; Knowledge of Hadoop, Tableau, R Studio, and TD Aster

Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, MS Visual Studio, HTML protocols and session data.

Must be able to professionally communicate with peers and management and poses excellent interpersonal skills.
