POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Principal, Strategy and Corporate Development is responsible for leading strategy development, formulation and execution of strategic growth opportunities for Sabre Hospitality Solutions. This role will directly report to the Vice President, Global Strategy, Planning and Corporate Development and work with senior leaders globally. This role will also own end-to-end planning and execution of select strategic growth opportunities for Hospitality Solutions and play a critical role in the evaluation and development of inorganic growth initiatives including M&A and partnerships worldwide. The role will be involved in major business decisions, working with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, and other relevant business leaders to ensure our strategy and investments are aligned with business goals, and generate or exceed expected returns. You will be a member of a highly influential team that leverages strong critical thinking and communication skills to develop the strategy, enable/operationalize the strategy, and assess the business’s operational performance against that strategy.

This role calls for a highly structured and creative problem solver, who is able to think strategically about growth opportunities, drive rigorous business case development, present recommendations to facilitate effective executive decision making. This role would successfully build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization to help drive execution and support our business growth in both existing and new markets globally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and drive rigorous market analysis, opportunity assessment, strategic evaluation, business case development, financial analysis, execution, and performance tracking of strategic initiatives for Sabre Hospitality Solutions globally.

  • Lead execution of key strategic initiatives and associated work-streams in collaboration and partnership with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, and other teams.

  • Measure and report progress on portfolio of growth initiatives using relevant metrics and performance scorecards and communicate progress to relevant business stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and executives in Sabre and relevant partner organizations.

  • Become an industry expert on the hospitality industry and technology in this space.

  • Recommend and drive inorganic/M&A opportunities in support of our growth strategies.

  • Formulate working hypotheses and storyboard development for key executive presentations/ projects.

  • Craft and deliver insightful oral and written recommendations in a persuasive and thoughtful manner to drive alignment and executive decision making. (critical must have)

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • An undergraduate/graduate degree from a premier institution in an area of rigorous study is required (Business, Economics, Finance/Accounting, Math, Engineering, Science etc.)

  • A top-tier MBA is highly desirable, but not required

  • Experience with a top-tier strategy consulting firm is a big plus

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience including a successful track record of developing and implementing business strategy, financial modeling and analysis, business planning, and strategic program/product management

  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management, with the capability to guide, educate and influence the thinking of senior decision makers

  • Strong internal and external relationship-building and facilitation skills

  • Uncompromising integrity, character and intellectual honesty; one who strives to do the right thing and deliver quality results; a leader with the courage and conviction to speak their position

  • Data savvy with sound decision making, strategic acumen, process improvement and analytical problem solving capabilities

  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel modeling skills is a must for success in this role

  • Demonstrated ability to work with significant ambiguity and complex projects

  • Process & action oriented – not an “academic” strategist – someone who can make things happen (more of an “operator” who’s great at strategy formulation)

  • Strong executive presence and previous experience relating to key partners/customers and articulating company direction, plans and approach, both in one-on-one environments and presenting to larger groups

  • Previous experience with large, geographically-dispersed, multi-functional organizations
