Through our gas marketing subsidiary, SWN Energy Services Company (“SES”), we capture downstream opportunities related to marketing and transportation of natural gas, oils and NGLs.
In Fayetteville, SES currently holds 2.0 Bcf/d of firm transportation on Texas Gas Transmission and Fayetteville Express Pipeline to ensure steady, firm takeaway of our affiliates’ equity production. This capacity provides us with access to Midcontinent, Gulf Coast and Southeast markets via NGPL, MRT, TETCO M1 24”, TGP 800L, TETCO M1 30”, ANR, TGT, Trunkline Z1A, CGT ML, Sonat, and FGT, among others.
In Northeast and Southwest Appalachia, SES also holds transportation capacity on several pipelines including Tennessee Gas, Millennium, and Columbia Gas, which access Northeast markets such as Algonquin, TETCO M3, TCO, Dominion, TGP Z6, and Transco-Leidy, among others.
Working in an open and collaborative environment, the Senior Trading Analyst will be tasked with assisting with the execution of the strategies and tactical plans of the high performing Marketing group in a dynamic, continually changing marketplace.
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Transportation, the successful candidate will bring a strong quantitative ability, attention to detail, the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a willingness to learn.
The Senior Trading Analyst’s responsibilities will include:
Develop, maintain, and utilize economic models to support commercial opportunities
Analyze historical and future commodity prices for business proposals
Quantify operational factors that influence economic impacts
Review and summarize commercial contracts
Build and maintain economic models for IRR projections
Perform data analysis on volumes and pricing, identify trends, and report to management
Maintain models for pipeline transportation capacity evaluation and alternatives, production, short and long term sales, and NPV calculations of future projects.
Prepare presentations for management for overview information, requests for transport, evaluation, and decision making.
Analyze and report accurate risk positions, basis changes, profit and loss results
Analyze pipeline transportation capacity alternatives
Work closely with and support all trading and business development activity
Work on special projects as assigned
Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Business related major, Economics, or Engineering, or MBA
3 – 5 years experience in the natural gas marketing industry
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong analytical capabilities
Strong computer skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self motivated with abilities to quickly prioritize multiple priorities
Ability and willingness to learn in an open fast paced environment
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
