Perform assigned clerical work such as document processing and/or record keeping, to assist in the daily operations of the assigned department. This work may be varied and may often involve intermediate level analysis, problem solving and clerical skills. Often the requests for information will not be provided in a standardized format.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Performs intermediate level clerical duties such as classifying, consolidating, summarizing, sorting, filing and distributing documents and information. 2. Makes copies as required and needed. Coverage for the front desk clerical position as needed. 3. Utilizes computer, calculator, typewriter, and other standard office equipment to record, store and retrieve information. 4. Develops, compiles, and formats various varied simple reports and/or correspondence as required. 5. Will often go to other departments to deliver and/or receive documents. 6. May act as lead clerk, providing assistance to and answering questions of lower level clerks. 7. Answers customer inquiries via telephone and/or personal contact with customers. 8. Responsible for medical chart filing and storage. 9. Collects charts for quarterly audits and compiles documentation forms for tracking client information. 10. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of general clerical experience.
- Must be very proficient with keyboarding, word processing and/or spreadsheet software.
- Must have the ability to develop unique correspondence and/or simple spreadsheets, follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving may be required for this position)
- Incumbent will be required to work a Saturday rotation.
- Must have the ability to type 35 wpm. *

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull.
