Position Summary Information
Gathers, compiles, analyzes, interprets and reports data.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Three years’ experience with data collection and analysis.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. Experience in sponsored research projects management, accounting and/or auditing. Experience within the A&M System or other university setting. Experience interpreting and monitoring compliance with federal regulations, including OMB Circulars and Code of Federal Regulations, as they pertain to sponsored research. Progressively responsible budgeting and/or project administration experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Excellent critical thinking and analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, proofreading and time management skills. Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex problems, prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Strong statistical, analytical and comprehension skills. Advanced experience using Word, Excel, Visio, SAP Web Intelligence (Business Objects), FAMIS, and/or Maestro. Personal or professional experience in working with people of diverse backgrounds.

Detailed Job Duties
Assist in establishing performance metrics. Collect, compile and report on performance measurement data. Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assist management in the achievement of their objectives.
Perform quality assurance activities related to sponsored projects within SRS including the review of internal controls, sponsored project records, and SRS processes. Performs process mapping to document processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Monitors existing processes to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
Serves as the point of contact for internal and external auditors. Works with auditors to schedule audit work. Attends entrance and exit meetings. Prepares data populations. Works to provide requested documentation. Assists in the development of management responses to audit observations.
