Position Summary Information
The Performance Nutrition Program Aide (dietitian) will assist in the development of performance nutrition educational materials. Under the direction of the Performance Nutrition Specialist, provides nutrition counseling for student-athletes.
Major/Essential Duties of Job
Under the direction of the Performance Nutrition Specialist, provides nutrition counseling and support during one on one appointments, office hours and team meeting with staff and student-athletes. Interacts with sports medicine team and strength & conditioning coaches to discuss optimal nutrition practices for teams and individuals. Assists in the development of nutrition education presentations and materials. Schedules and prepares team meetings and education materials with department staff.
Researches scientific articles related to sports nutrition, weight management and supplements. Works with assigned teams to plan competition meals around competition both at home and on the road. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree. Some experience (paid, or volunteer) in nutrition or as dietitian.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree. One year part time (paid, or volunteer) experience in nutrition or as dietitian for athletics program.

Required Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to clearly communicate. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Knowledge in sports nutrition counseling.

Occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as required to fulfill assigned duties and sports assignments.
