Braun Intertec is seeking a Project Assistant to join our Texas City, Texas, office.


  • Provide assistance to engineering and testing services projects

  • Includes providing workload and backup assistance to operations management

  • Requires high degree of accuracy and efficiency in performing daily duties

  • Must possess strong administrative skills in addition to possessing skills using various basic and sophisticated computer applications and software

  • Must possess, or be able to acquire, a thorough knowledge of departmental and company policies and procedures, and be able to work independently with general direction

  • Perform administrative and clerical duties

  • Provide information to outside callers, clients, prospects and internal employees

  • Verify and input information from various sources into a variety of software systems, including updating and maintenance of said information for use in proposals and reports

  • Produce standard, basic proposals, including generation of letters and fees, using the company internal Style Guide

  • Assists Project Management staff with project set-up, organization of job information,(retrieving site maps, past site information, creation of job files, etc.), document preparation and project billings as necessary

  • Assist clients with routine requests and in the absence of the Project Manager

  • Coordinate meetings, lunches, seminars, travel and conferences including all logistical arrangements, attendance controls and related follow-ups

  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, documents, or tables in order to track usage, purchase orders and other statistical items as directed by supervisor

  • Prepare and maintain various presentations, forms, signs or flyers, and other statistical reports as requested by supervisor or staff

  • Create and maintain desktop publishing documents, tables and spreadsheets. Includes imbedding of photographs into technical reports and the manipulation of pictures, maps and various other images using computer software

  • Standardize formatting of a variety of reports and proposals

  • Generate, or compile and prepare weekly and monthly reports using various computer software programs

  • Provide workload and back-up assistance to colleagues as needed

  • Vendor invoice coordination, including purchaser review/approval, coding and submission to Finance

  • Prebill processing including distribution to appropriate Project Managers, finalization/compilation of approved prebills, and associated summary documentation as requested by Finance and BUM

  • Provide assistance in organizing various internal initiatives related to safety, quality and training

  • Participate in weekly production meetings and produce meeting minutes

  • Provide support to Operations Supervisor including running production meetings in his absence

  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks efficiently and simultaneously with minimal supervision

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Perform typing, data entry, and computer applications with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

  • Execute good customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively via telephone and e-mail

  • Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos

  • Write business correspondence and generate project proposals using standard formats and supplied data

  • Present information clearly and concisely in one-on-one and small group situations

  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

  • Compute rate, ratio and percent, as well as the ability to draw and interpret bar, chart and pie graphs

Required Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

  • Associate's Degree or college coursework preferred

  • 1+ years experience required
