_Registered Nurse (RN) – Dialysis (Full-Time Day Shift)_

The RN cares for patients as listed: adult and geriatric.

_POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:_ E1. Responsible for direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients on the Dialysis Unit.

E2. Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Dialysis Unit.

E3. Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.

E4. Communicates with Nurse Director and House Supervisor regarding patient care, staff conflicts and unusual occurrences.

E5. Coordinates patient/staff schedule along with nephrologists and in consideration of staffing needs at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

E6. Ensures efficient, quality care of patients requiring dialysis.

E7. Assures daily charges are entered on Meditech.

E8. Assumes responsibility for charging the unit as needed.

E9. Assumes responsibility for on-call duty as scheduled, with response time not greater than one hour.

E10. Models behaviors consistent with positive customer service.

E11. Adheres to and complies with HCA Code of Conduct as part of Ethics and Compliance program. Attends annual training sessions.

_INTERACTION WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS:_ Collaborates with physicians, nurses and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding each patient’s nursing care needs. Works with professional and non-professional employees of the hospital, and with physicians, patients and their families.

_POSITION REQUIREMENTS:_ Experience: At least 1 year experience required as a Staff RN in a dialysis setting. Education: 1. Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. 2. Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of the patients on the particular unit on which the RN is assigned. Special Qualifications: 1. Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners 2. Current CPR certification 3. Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist 4. Medication test score of 100%
