Summary / Overview: Samsung is seeking a Safety Technician for the SAS facilities in Austin, TX. The Safety Technician will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and will assist with identifying risks that support safety programs. They will perform a general range of industrial hygiene investigations identifying and evaluating occupational health hazards in the work environment. This includes measuring/sampling for noise control, radiation surveys, indoor air quality monitoring and record keeping. Specific Job Duties:

  • Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices

  • Support hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs

  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control elements

  • Document and track results to support hazard exposure elements

  • Follow plans for monitoring/sampling of hazardous control points

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required: -5 years’ experience in Health & Safety

  • Associate of science in engineering, industrial hygiene, environmental science, safety or closely related field

  • Bachelor Degree preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools:

  • Familiarity with hazardous materials, related regulations and NIOSH standards

  • Familiarity with OSHA Regulatory/Reporting Guidelines

  • Strong preference for experience at a semiconductor manufacturing (FAB) facility

  • Experience dealing with federal, state and local regulatory agencies
