The accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information. Must prepare journal entries; maintain the balance sheet schedules and ledgers, prepare bank reconciliations, and prepare variance analysis. Must perform monthly closings and account analysis and support the managers in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
1) Prepare and record monthly journal entries.
2) Prepare, research, and reconcile balance sheets, bank accounts, and depreciation.
3) Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
4) Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
5) Assist with special projects.
Experience: 4 + years experience with increasingly responsibilities performing journey to complex accounting and finance work
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Proficient in Excel.
Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
Perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast paced work environment.
Ability to multi-task.
Must be a team player.
Additional Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of Peoplesoft.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
