The Regional Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Relationships is a role, ideally based in Phoenix, and primarily focused on implementing a comprehensive community oncology growth strategy with our affiliated partner Arizona Oncology (AO), as well as the pursuit of new relationships in New Mexico and other western states as determined by the National Vice President of Business Development, West. As part of this role, the Regional Vice President will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the community (Hospitals, Practices and, local Payers). By working with these stakeholders, the Regional Vice President will collaborate with local AO leadership in executing the overall growth strategy as well as the tactical plan to drive overall practice success and growth. Growth strategies will be primarily focused on growing the practice through integration of other physician groups, entering into business relationships with hospitals, and/or other accretive business relationships that drive overall growth and best position the practice for success in a value based payer/reimbursement environment.

The Regional Vice President will develop deep relationships with the physicians of AO and the Phoenix Governing Board. In this capacity the Regional Vice President will lead business development activities from developing penetration and relationship development strategies to strengthening establishing relationships (internally / externally), and coordinating internal resources to support efforts and developing deals from conceptual agreement through to implementation. He or she will proactively identify and overcome potential hurdles to the closure of deals which includes bringing to bear internal resources as necessary to ensure timely internal approvals. Builds relationships within the organizations of deal partners, and utilizes these relationships to smooth potential problems that may arise and/or keep partners executing within agreed upon timelines.

The Regional Vice President must be results focused with the ability to achieve those results through people, teams, and collaborative relationships. This ability requires the incumbent to create an outcomes focused environment where matrix relationship are used to achieve collaborative results. The Regional Vice President must be passionate about this role, work collaboratively, and most of all, understand their purpose of work focused on growth.

In addition to market activities in Arizona and New Mexico, the Regional Vice President will also assist in developing strategic initiatives which seek to add value to existing and potential network practices. Through a deep knowledge of the drivers of the oncology practice, the Regional Vice President will work with external, internal, and industry stakeholders to identify new avenues of practice and network growth, including new diagnostic, therapeutic, and payer focused approaches which result in improved outcomes while providing benefit to the health system in general.

Given the experience and ability level of the Regional Vice President, this individual may also be asked to lead other development activities such as portfolio and other strategic initiatives which may arise as a result of the rapid consolidation and other market forces currently existing in the oncology practice management industry.

Position Description

Prospects for appropriate partners and analyzes opportunities. This includes opportunities with existing practices, hospitals and/or other constituents in Arizona. Manage the local business development efforts to support the growth aspirations of the practice and market including local hospital and physician group discussions. Assist in the development of strategic plans, prioritization of targets, financial modeling, and communication with central business development teams to ensure a seamless face and highly integrated voice to the external customer. Assesses and prioritize the payer and hospital relationships to assess potential for unique and value added opportunities, particularly with key hospitals and payers in value based care models. Communicate with AO physicians and manage physician expectations, drive innovation and insight into our partner interactions, and develop physician support capacity for new business activities. Lead the team to more fully deliver value in all interactions, driving new business opportunities and revenue growth in our existing markets.
Growth tracking, communication, and leading alignment sessions Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, assessing and communicating organization progress against growth goals and objectives while working closely with RSVP, finance directors, COO/CFO and AO physician leadership.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements8+ years business development experience and 5+ years managerial experience Critical Skills 10+ years in a business development, strategy, operation or related provider business role. Financial acumen to evaluate revenue/profit opportunities associated with accounts.Builds and maintains relationships internally and externally.BA/BS Business or Equivalent RequiredAdditional Knowledge & SkillsAttention to detail.Communicates clearly and concisely by verbal and written means.Proven track record to meet and/or exceed business targetsDeep Phoenix and greater Arizona understanding and experience will be an important positive attribute of a successful candidate.Team player with strong interpersonal and resource management skills.
