Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Women & Children s patients. Responsible for delivering nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing as evidenced by licensure in the state of Texas under the BNE or compact agreement
Orientation and training will be provided that is specific to unit until able to function independently and demonstrates proficiency in basic skills.
Current Texas Licensure to practice professional nursing.
Current BCLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation
NRP within 1 st year of hire for NICU/Transition/L&D Nurse Assignment
ACLS for L&D & Overseers within 1 st year of hire
Proficient in drug types, interactions and reference materials.
Knowledgeable to give medications and perform duties of an RN.
Specific knowledge of medical terminology to be able to understand carry out physician orders.
Specific knowledge of the basic principles of the nursing field and their applications to be able to understand and carry out the duties of a staff nurse.
General knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, and grammar to be able to do drug calculations and properly document patient care.
Proficient in all aspects of nursing care for area assigned. Continuing effort to stay abreast of continually changing techniques and procedures.
