The Crisis Care Counselor is responsible for providing initial assessment, crisis intervention, case management, and outreach programs to students who have experienced a traumatic event or other crises.

Job Duties

Required Education Master's

Field of Study Counseling, social work, psychology, or related field

Required Experience 3 years of relevant work

Other Required Qualifications

-Licensed or license eligible as counselor, social worker, or psychologist in Texas -Demonstrated expertise in clinical case management -Ability to deal with crisis situations -Knowledge of local community mental health resources

Preferred Education Doctoral

Preferred Experience 5 years of relevant work

Other Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working with individuals within a higher education setting and/or community setting -Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies both on and off campus -Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others -Strong oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills -Strong organizational skills -Demonstrated multicultural competence in mental health service provision -Crisis intervention experience
