Our retail customers come to us fromtraditional grocers, supermarkets and warehouse clubs to provide their meat anddeli needs. This position is responsible for leading the Further Processing hourly team members to attain production andquality goals while ensuring the safest working environment possible. The person in this position is responsiblefor managing and owning various functions of the business and creating anengaged and team-oriented workforce in order to improve business results.

A high performer in this position will identifyproblems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolve issues; ensureproduction resources (including materials, equipment, and human resources) areavailable as needed to maintain product schedules; support continuousimprovement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service

Principal Accountabilities:

30% - Oversee day-to-day operation of assignedarea including work flow, management of work in process, job assignments,rotations, etc.

20% - Ensure safety of workforce through delivery of monthlysafety training topics, department safety audits, and participation inincident reviews. Monitor and ensure compliance with all safetypolicies and procedures. Contribute safety suggestions for improvement.

20% - Support positive employee relations in allaspects of interaction with employees including valuing differences, engagementaction planning, and monitoring compliance with company policies andprocedures which support these goals.

10% - Effectively orient, train, and develop allemployees utilizing new hire discussion guides, Job Task Analyses, performancereview forms, and other management tools.

10% - Monitor product quality to meet customerspecifications, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices are effectivelydeployed in area of responsibility.

10% - Perform essential record keeping and timekeepingfunctions for department personnel using Kronos system. Monitoremployee attendance and absenteeism, holding employees accountable asnecessary.

  • High school diploma or GED


  • Demonstrated leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Bachelors degree

  • Previous experience with computerized timekeeping systems, such as Kronos

  • Additional computer skills preferred, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook

  • Ability to relocate within the company

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • At least 1 year of production experience.
