Title: Manager Access Services

Required Experience: A minimum of 2 years required

Required Education: Bachelors or Exp Equivalent


Manages overall Access Services to ensure efficient operations and quality customer service. Maintains appropriate staffing levels and works with all staff to make certain new and refresher training is delivered timely. Serves as a resource to access and non-access staff with regard to revenue cycle operations

WHAT IS EXPECTED (Essential Functions)

Manages the operations of the specified subset of Access activities

Develops and implements performance standards appropriate for the subset of Access activities that address quality, productivity and customer service

Supervises, directly or indirectly, all employees assigned as well as acts as a resource for employees assigned to other Management Team Members

Responsible for remaining current with industry standards affecting areas of responsibility including federal and state regulations and payer requirements

Assures appropriate training and continuing education for all staff. Identifies areas of development for employees and works with employees to provide support in professional growth and/or succession planning. Coordinates applicant interviews, hiring, disciplinary actions and performance reviews.

Serve as a first point of contact in the event of a disaster, facility or revenue cycle emergency

Responsible and accountable for overseeing departmental operations/work-flows and adequate staffing at all times. Immediately addresses any performance, productivity and/or behavioral related issues with staff and provides action and result to Access Director.

Responsible for patient, guest and departmental satisfaction

Serves as a functional team member representing Access Services/Revenue Cycle Operations, and serves on designated committees and meetings as directed

Acts as a Servant Leader and role model to staff by demonstrating the Baylor Scott and White mission, vision and values

Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.


General insurance terminology to include but not limited to governmental and commercial payers

Proficient typing and keyboarding skills. Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.

Works Independently and self-starter.
