TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Flexographic Printing Press Helper in ALVARADO, Texas

Days/Hours : To be discussed. Rotating Shifts. Pay : Between $11.00 Hr. and $15.25 Hr. SUMMARY Assists the Press Operator in the setting up and operation of a Printing Press that prints designs up to eight colors on rolls of polyethylene, or similar films. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1). Review specs such as; Job Order, Print Master, Proofs, and Samples. 2). Clean pumps, lines, trays, ink rollers, and doctor blade units with proper solvent. 3). Transfer inks to the correct pump and reduce to specific startup viscosity. 4). Assist the press operator in changing out plate cylinders and aniloxes. 5). Obtain supplies (cores, make-ready stock, cleaning materials, etc.) needed for setups. 6). Obtain the correct material allocated to the present job. 7). Determine material needs, fills out material request form and turns in to shipping department for staging. 8). Keeps rolls loaded on the unwind stand and have taped up for splicing. 9). Help press operator remove rolls from rewind spindles and package roll according to specifications. 10). Periodically adds ink to ink reservoir to maintain a specified level. 11). Sets automatic viscometers to maintain ink viscosity. Manually takes and records periodic viscosity readings to ensure proper operation, and trouble shoots any malfunctions. 12). Ensure solvent drums are in place and maintained with the proper solvents. 13). Checks and adjusts ink flows from pump to ensure proper ink circulation. 14). Performs preventive maintenance. 15). Performs all other duties assigned by press operator or lead person. QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience * Requires you to have zero experience as a Printing Machine Operators OR Helpers - Production Workers OR Production Workers, All Other with A High School Diploma/GED. * Requires you to have a Class C Drivers License with an acceptable driving record. * Requires you to have Computer Skills: Database Software. Language Skills *Requires you to speak, read and write good English. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. - Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization in English. Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. - The ability to compute and interpret basic math formulas, percentages, charts and graphs. Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. - Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, ore schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have completed all current training required by law and by American Film and Printing.
