The Corp Communications & Events Specialist will work in a collaborative environment with the existing team members to create and support the development of all internal corporate communications. A Corp Communications & Events Specialist’s main responsibilities will include project management and creation of a new and improved internal communications and culture plan in collaboration with Corp leadership and other internal teams. This position will be required to report to the SHI Austin Office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Optimizing current company communications procedures and defining new, effective and efficient communication protocols for the company
Creating high quality content for company-wide communications, ex. Monthly sales results and recognition slides, TV monitor slides, monthly newsletters, weekly slides for team meetings, social media content, company-wide emails and calendar invites, etc.
Researching, identifying, and implementing new communication vehicles that effectively reach employees nationwide in various settings, from the Austin office to Field offices to employees on the road
Project manage various communication and culture initiatives in tandem
Advising Corp-wide leadership on strategic internal communications efforts
Assisting in managing complex internal calendar of events and activities
Pushing creativity, challenging established thinking, and discovering new ways of promoting our company’s programs and creating an audience
Attending and participating in Marketing activities; such as brainstorming sessions and internal events including Leadership Weeks, Sales Conferences, and culture events to produce social media content and support the event as needed.
Owning logistics for all communication efforts including, but not limited to, scheduling and sending Outlook invites, hosting events, capturing and sending out follow up materials, etc.
Directly support executive-level leadership to ensure consistent and clear communication plan
Conduct pre- and post- event evaluations and report on outcomes.
Assist with Corp culture initiatives and work closely with the Partner Marketing team
Work with various team leaders to identify gaps in the communication process and remedy
Working with Enterprise's MarComm team for feedback and alignment
Request quotes from venues, receiving bids from vendors and arranging payment, coordinating travel arrangements including overnight accommodations.
Completed Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 1-year experience with corporate communications and/or corporate events planning
Possess knowledge of IT industry and demonstrate an aptitude towards creativity and teamwork
Ability to work under general to limited supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to market news, events, and updates to company employees
Demonstrated track record of taking initiative, having a sense of urgency, and proactively proposing solutions to challenges
Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time and to work effectively with other functions to ensure deadlines are met
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting, and interact and build relationships across the organization
Strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and attention to detail.
Ability to influence at all levels through clear, informed, and logical business justification and discussion
Proven track record of strong organization and project management skills
Proficient PowerPoint skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications
Ability working on tight deadlines with the ability to easily adapt to change
Working knowledge of major communication platforms (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.)
Comfortable with ambiguity and being a part of complex initiatives
Working knowledge of PowerBI
Experience working directly with senior-level leadership
Experience with corporate event planning
Understanding of MDF and partner community knowledge
Experience with creative design applications (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
May travel to approved conferences or Field Sales Offices as needed, up to 10%.
