Associate Director, Human Resources Employee RelationsSt. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position ofAssociate Director, Human Resources Employee Relations.The role will oversee workplace investigations through to successful issue resolution and provide a strategic view of policies, employee relations, Title VII, and Title IX compliance. Provides direction in creating and nurturing an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination, intolerance, and harassment.Essential Responsibilities Include:Conducts investigations based on Title VII, Title IX or workplace complaints received or identified, and recommend appropriate resolution through the interpretation and fair application of personnel policies, procedures and guiding principles, thereby ensuring an effective employer/employee relationship is maintained.Writes investigative reports, creates and maintains data analytics to direct and track movement toward strategic objectives and to ensure diversity and employee relations issues are continuously evaluated and addressed.Assists management in understanding individual differences in a manner that maximizes everyone's contribution to the organization and supports the university's strategic development and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.Provides guidance, expertise, and leadership development to the University community regarding applicable laws, policies, procedures, and best practices with the purpose of building a more inclusive environment.Assist in the development and facilitation of relevant core, situational, and targeted education.Maintains employee handbook with updated policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.For consideration, a Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master's degree preferred. 5-7 years HR/ progressive experience related to employee relations, diversity, equity, and inclusion, plus 2-3 years of management experience. Strong emphasis on employee relations, Title VII, Title IX, employee advocacy, change activities, and HR administration. Strong investigative skills with extensive knowledge of FMLA, EEO laws, ADA, and other employment-related State and Federal laws and regulations. Title IX certified is a plus. Broad experience conducting and advising on workplace investigations. Has deep knowledge of HR processes, legal compliance, and employee development. Must be able to manage multiple cases and priorities and make sound decisions quickly in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues. Possesses the cross-functional collaboration skills needed to creatively problem-solve, engage, and closely partner with colleagues across all levels of the organization. Possesses exceptional interpersonal, conflict management, communication and facilitation skills; comfort level with presenting information to leadership and large groups of employees. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
