Candidate will own defining, planning, and execution of Solutions Engineering efforts and operations to ensure technical alignment with pan Dell teams, such as product teams, sales, services, support, operations, etc. Be the voice of Solutions Engineering in pan-Dell interactions, workstreams, new initiatives, etc. Manage cross-functional relationships with other Dell Technologies teams and partners. As part of operations execution, own the budget planning & execution, OPS reviews, engineering status reports for all Solution programs.

This Development Manager (DM) role involves end-to-end project/program management and running operations in the Solutions Engineering group. This position requires collaboration in a stimulating environment, which offers the opportunity to learn about the latest enterprise servers, storage, networking and software products, as the team uses these technologies to design, architect and deliver innovative solutions and offerings to implement real-world customer use cases. Strong candidates are those who have a good understanding of software and hardware and who can apply this knowledge to project-manage such solutions development processes.

Detailed Items:

  • Drive the translation of business objectives into actionable technical requirements; balancing critical program objectives with constraints, realistic and effective project scope and schedule planning; proactive risk analysis and mitigation.

  • Own cross-Functional operations, including engineering project management, factory, services, quality, logistics, and sales engagement & support.

  • Lead interlocks and interface with cross-functional organizations, teams and partners to help incorporate various Dell enterprise product (server, storage, networking) into our solutions.

  • Assist engineering teams in understanding and evaluating new technologies and their impact on solution design.

  • Represent Solutions Engineering in collaboration with other stakeholders in solution design and participate in cross-function initiatives.

  • Drive Initiatives and operations at Sr. Director level across all Solutions Engineering teams, including creating presentations and status reports.

  • Drive budget planning and manage execution and tracking throughout the year.

  • Drive and manage Vendor Funding requests and meet quarterly-end POPs/requirements.

  • Participate in HW ordering and tracking of Engineering projects’ needs.

Essential Requirements

  • Undergraduate (B.S.) degree and 7+ years of relevant experience or Graduate degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or relevant fields.

  • Experience in creating schedules and driving projects’ on-time completion.

  • Knowledge of ordering HW, creating BOMs and SKUs.

  • Experience in organizing complex projects and setting priorities to get projects completed with a high degree of quality and timely manner.

  • Experience with creating processes to enable engineering to work more efficiently and to scale with the available resources.

  • Experience in delivering proof-of-concepts for large enterprise customers.

  • Experience in working with global engineering and extended teams.

  • Experience in analyzing and solving problems and work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Experience in working under tight date-driven schedules and dealing with ambiguity.

  • Experience in networking and relationship building.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to easily and quickly master new tools, processes and methodologies.

  • Self-Driven and ability to own tasks to completion with little supervision

Desired Requirements

  • PMP Certification is a plus.
