Due to continued growth, Kapsch TrafficCom has an immediate opening for a Documentation Administrator for a 3-month contract in Austin, TX. This position has the opportunity for extension, and to potentially become full-time.

The Documentation Administrator will work in a collaborative environment, engaging with the Technical Writer team to develop high-quality documentation. Tasks are various, ranging from formatting, utilizing style guides, publishing, processing and maintaining controlled documentation.

In this role, the Documentation Administrator will:

  • organize SharePoint repositories to align with Kapsch document control standards

  • merge out-of-sync versions of documents

  • apply project-specific templates to documents, including styles, naming, and numbering conventions

  • track documents through the process for QA/QC, approvals, publication and archiving

  • verify that names, locations, and acronyms are consistent with contracts

  • create document submittal packages

  • train staff on document control processes and procedures

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor degree in Communications, Technical Writing, English, or an engineering related field from an accredited college or university.

  • strong attention to detail

  • proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sharepoint

  • desktop publishing experience is useful

  • ability to follow instructions and procedures, and to use good judgement in the performance of assigned work

  • good communication skills, both written and verbal

Preference given to candidates with technical writing experience and familiarity with Atlassian’s JIRA and Confluence.

The Kapsch portfolio of Advanced Traffic Management (ATM) services includes over 40 systems that integrate ATMS, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and automation for collecting real-time traffic and facilities-related data from highways, managed lanes, bridges, and tunnels.
