TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Inventory and Store Specialist I in AUSTIN, Texas

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), a Family Friendly Certified Workplace, is seeking a Inventory and Store Specialist I to join the Infrastructure Services- Warehouse Operations team located at 2810 E.Martin Luther King Blvd. Austin, Texas.Benefits to working for TWC include:- Competitive starting salary: $2,652.50/month- Defined Retirement Benefit Plan- Optional 401(k) and 457 accounts- Medical Insurance - Currently, the state pays 100% of the health plan premium for eligible full-time employees and 50% of the premium for their eligible dependents. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; and monitoring warehouse operations for compliance withestablished security requirements and procedures. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.GENERAL DUTIES:- Maintains, stocks, and issues materials, equipment, supplies, merchandise, or other inventory.- Maintains accounting records, assigns inventory numbers to items, and monitors inventory and stock control records following loss prevention and agency guidelines.- Identifies merchandise according to agency policies and procedures, stocks shelves as required, and provides assistance to customers in finding products and making selections.- Conducts inventory of stock or merchandise and reviews inventory control records and reports.- Prepares estimates of supply and merchandise needs and prepares requests for replenishing supplies and merchandise.- Loads and unloads stock and merchandise.- Disposes of surplus property and arranges and rotates merchandise.- Assist local and out of town drivers with deliveries.- May prepare purchase requests or orders and maintains files and supporting documentation.- May operate a forklift and perform minor equipment maintenance.- May assist in filling orders by packaging, mailing, or delivering items.- Performs related work as assigned.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Knowledge of warehousing methods and procedures, inventory and stock control record keeping, customer service, and standard business practices.- Skill in operating a computer with Windows 10 and in using applicable software (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer).- Communicate effectively.- Must have a insurable driving record. A driver's license check is one of the pre-employment background checks.- Possession of a valid CDL Class-B is strongly preferred or the ability to obtain within six months of date of employment and maintained while employed in this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of GED certification, plus one year of full-time experience involving property management and accounting, stock inventory records, controls and systems, and/or warehousing work.- Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work with courses in business administration or related courses may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.Duty involves up to 25% travel within the state of Texas and the ability to lift 64 pounds.VETERANS:Use your military skills to qualify for this position or other jobs!
