SAFE CARES Therapist
SAFE CARES seeks a full-time therapist. The SAFE Cares Therapist is responsible for providing trauma informed counseling and support for trafficking survivors who have been exposed to trauma, sexual abuse and domestic/interpersonal violence. The SAFE CARES Therapist will work within SAFE to support advocacy and drop-in services for commercially sexually exploited children, adolescents and young adults. CARES stands for Collaboration, Advocacy, Response and Engagement for Survivors of Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation.

The SAFE Alliance grew out of the courageous work of the Center for Battered Women, the Austin Rape Crisis Center, and the Austin Children?s Shelter, all respected, women-led human service agencies created by volunteers and informed by survivors who needed support, safety and justice.
With over 20 programs and 400 staff, we have been serving the Austin community and beyond for over 30 years.

About this position:
We need you to fill the role of SAFE CARES Therapist. This is a FULL TIME, position based at our Grove location and the drop in center at Elizabeth Ann Seton House. This is a mobile position.
The Therapist position at CARES provides both in-person and telehealth therapy services to CARES clients. Due to COVID-19 precautions, this position is mostly work from home for the time being. Masks, temperature checks, and other safety guidelines must be adhered to in order to work out of SAFE campuses and the Elizabeth Ann Seton House.
We will pay you an annual salary between $40K and $42K.
Provide therapeutic interventions, assessments, and counseling plans for children, adolescents, and young adults
Maintain all required documentation and ensure that all documentation is accurate and in compliance with all contract standards and audit client records and files.
Employ evidenced-based therapeutic modalities such as, but not limited to: cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and somatic experiencing therapy.
Connect and collaborate with CARES Advocacy, CARES Case Management, and other programs through SAFE and in the community to support client?s needs and growth.
Keep up with professional state mandated Licenses and other ethical trainings necessary toward your professional licenses.
Basic proficiency in use of computer software including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Other duties as assigned.
Possess a master?s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or equivalent, and hold current LCSW or LPC license; preferred specialization in children and families, trauma modalities and/or substance use.
Minimum of one year experience providing services to children, families, adolescents, and/or young adults.
Bilingual in Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
