Acxiom Senior Infrastructure Architect in Austin, Texas

Acxiom Marketing Services account team, supporting top 10 Global Financial Institution, is seeking Infrastructure Architect candidates with expertise in compute, storage, and network infrastructure technologies and best practices. As the team’s infrastructure solution architect, you would be focused on designing and implementing a compute, storage and network infrastructure solution and management strategy across a variety of technologies to support next generation 24x7 event driven marketing platform that will a hybrid CDP, DMP, CMS solution needed to support the client’s acquisition and existing customer marketing efforts across a variety of marketing channels: direct mail, email, client websites, 3rd party websites, ad network, addressable TV, mobile app, etc.

You would be a member of a small team of solution architects dedicated to supporting this one client. The other architects would be focused on: data and application design. The team is managed by a principle solution architect responsible for coordinating efforts and overall vision for the solution architecture team.

As the infrastructure architect, you would be responsible for:

  • Researching and evaluating new compute, storage and network technologies that will help improve how we ingest and process batch and streaming data in a secure and efficient manner

  • Establishing and promoting best practices for managing infrastructure components to ensure data security and processing efficiency

  • Establishing and promoting best practices for applications related to leveraging existing infrastructure

  • Designing infrastructure upgrades or expansion plans as opportunities arise

  • Designing infrastructure strategies to address project or application performance needed

  • Developing infrastructure strategies to support application deployments across multiple data centers and multiple DMZs or security zones

  • Establishing and promoting a hyper-converged infrastructure strategy that includes compute, storage and network virtualization and application containerization

  • Coordinating with corporate procurement and vendors on price quotes needed for project cost estimate proposals

  • Working directly with senior executives and leadership to identify and address technology gaps, strategic goals, and business imperatives impacted by infrastructure technologies

  • Suggesting new technologies or new approaches to achieve business goals

  • Maintaining and updating documentation related to client dedicated infrastructure activities and technology roadmaps

  • Communicating progress and direction through formal presentations, collaborative meetings, and content publishing to mixed audiences

  • Working with the client to obtain the solution requirements for the infrastructure

  • Designing infrastructure solutions that meets or exceeds the requirements utilizing a reference architecture

  • Ensuring infrastructure solution design fulfills functional and technical requirements and can consistently meet progress against service level agreements (SLAs.)

  • The accuracy, process, integrity, quality, and stewardship of client infrastructure solutions

You will work with account dedicated system administrators, database administrators, solution developers, operations delivery specialist, data strategist, Acxiom's corporate data center and network technical resources and client's technical, data analytics and business resources to design and implement infrastructure solutions needed to support client's current and future next-gen marketing activities.

What you will need:

  • 5-7 years working experience with a variety of compute, storage and network technologies and experience with implementing integrated solutions on behalf of the client or organization

  • Familiar with ITIL, TOGAF and ITSM best practices and standards.

  • Knowledge of leveraging compute, storage and network technologies to support of batch and streaming data processing applications

  • Knowledge of distributed data storage and processing via Hadoop and other Big Data software frameworks

  • Experience managing infrastructure needed to support large relational database (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, Netezza)

  • Experience working in both Windows, Linux, AIX environments

  • Familiar with infrastructure implications of supporting a 24x7 availability with 99.999% up time SLA.

  • Experience troubleshooting application and infrastructure performance bottlenecks

  • Familiar with implications of applications exposed over internet, dedicated lease lines and/or for internal use only

  • Experience working with a variety of security services (e.g., Okta, Active Directory, Centrify, LDAP or SAML)

  • Experience working with a variety of network devices (firewalls, load balancers, routers) and hardware providers (e.g., Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Brocade)

  • Experience working with a variety of monitoring tools and technologies

  • Ability to easily convey technical requirements to development resources

  • Technical process design and workflow documentation skills (e.g., Visio)

  • Ability to effectively present technical design details to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to drive the process to review and approve your designs for implementation

  • Ability to coordinate, as needed, the various resources needed to implement your design

What will set you apart:

  • Experience setting up infrastructure to support data lakes, NoSQL database systems (e.g., MongoDB and Hive), graph databases and other newer big data technologies.

  • Experience with software and programming development lifecycle

  • Experience with machine learning, AI and deep learning technologies and infrastructure needed to support it

  • Knowledge about public and private cloud implementation and implications related to ingestion, activation, and distribution of data

  • Familiar with PCI Security Compliance requirement

  • Familiar with vulnerability assessments and potential implications on infrastructure setup

  • Experience with small- and large-scale compute, storage and network capacity planning, budgeting and procurement

  • Experience working with a variety of application virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Nutanix or Docker)

  • Experience working with a variety of file system (e.g., NFS, GPFS, HDFS, NTFS or Samba)

  • Experience working with a variety of storage system (e.g., EMC, IBM, Hitachi, Netapp or Dell)

  • Experience working with a physical server and blade technologies

  • Familiar with differences between major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, etc.)

  • Familiar with microservices application architecture and implementation on compute, storage and network infrastructure
