VMware Software Engineer - Compliance - Tanzu - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Austin, Texas

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

VMware’s Modern Applications Platform organization is looking for software engineers to be part of growing a new team that will participate in product development across our business unit to achieve desired compliance outcomes. These engineers will partner with other product teams where they will design, develop, test, and release software features related to compliance. They will also work on products and tools delivered directly by the compliance team that enhance the compliance journey for all product teams.

What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Dive into multiple codebases to develop, test, and maintain new product features and enhancing existing features required to meet specific compliance related features for multiple software products in the Tanzu family.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Design and develop high-quality software product features using multiple programming languages (predominantly Java, Go, and Ruby)

  • Write automated tests to verify the correctness of features/enhancements you make.

  • Collaborate daily with your teammates and development pairusing a variety of tools including Slack, Zoom, Teams, Outlook, and screen sharing.

  • Work closely with your teammates to create integration tooling and facilitate the use of security tools such as code and vulnerability scannersso product teams can scan their software prior to release.
