TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Manufacturing Operator in BRYAN, Texas
DIRECT HIRE - $16/HOUR PAY RATE - REGULAR OVERTIME A local manufacturing company has 12 openings for experienced machine operators who are willing to work 7 days on/7 days off in rotating 12 hour shifts. The ideal candidate is analytical, alert, smart, with good math skills who can read and comprehend technical manuals. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their own learning and growth, who can think on their feet, is a great team player who can work with many different personalities, and who values safety and orderliness. Job Description: Operates forklifts, cranes, hoists and other machinery/equipment to move product and change out raw materials. Provides preventative maintenance on equipment; repairing and replacing parts as necessary. Observes all company safety regulations and follows all operating procedures. Physical requirements: Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds; climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform equipment maintenance; walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on varying terrain; wear personal protective equipment (PPE). General Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, with a current/valid driver's license; high school diploma/GED; previous experience driving a forklift, operating valves, gauging tanks, performing maintenance on equipment; willing and able to comply with all processes and procedures according to company standards; ability to read technical materials written in English and learn computer software associated with process operations. Skilled in basic computer use. Preferred Skills and Competencies: Associates degree or Technical certification; 1+ years of experience working in a plant environment; plant operating process knowledge; control room experience.
