Texas Health Burleson seeks to hire a Registered Nurse to work PRN/per diem in the Emergency Department.

Salary: Flat rate of $39.00/hour

Work Schedule

• PRN II; Variable shifts; 32 hours/months; one (1) weekend shift/months; 1 major/1 minor holiday requirement

Texas Health Burleson, a department of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth has a 24/7 Emergency Care, Close to Home and is a full-service ED with highly qualified nursing staff providing care for a wide variety of patients from pediatric to seniors covering an array of illnesses and injuries, and can be your first stop in an emergency. The facility is a 10 bed emergency department, located about 15 miles south of downtown Ft. Worth, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The essential job duties of this position are:

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• assesses the patient

• plans the care of the patient

• intervenes as appropriate

• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred; completion of BSN within two years of earliest start date in a Texas Health RN role is required

• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency

• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

• BCLS (AHA) upon hire - expiration date greater than 3 months preferred

• ACLS (AHA) upon hire

• CPI training within 60 days of hire

• NIHSS within 90 days of hire

• PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire and TNCC or ATCN within 1 year of hire

• Two (2) years experience as a clinical nurse (RN) in the ED setting


• Computer skills

• Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism. Serve as a role model, be an intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and a coordinator for quality patient care.

• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment is required.
