We are looking for a Animal Caretaker II, to join the dynamic Small Animal ICU department of our Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital! The ideal candidate enjoys taking care of small animals, the cleaning and disinfection of cages, stalls and patient care. What you need to know
Work Schedule: Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc., and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by their direct supervisor.

Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years of related experience in animal care
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic computer skills
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
Ability to work around animals, hay, or dust
Able to lift heavy weight object
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience in animal handling and animal care
Maintains clean and sanitary patient cages and runs.
Sweeps and mops floors, washes dishes laundry (includes removal of soiled laundry, collection of clean laundry, folding and storage of linens) Removes trash Cleans and packages oxygen hoses, bandage materials, and other items for sterilization.
Maintains outdoor exercise yard in a clean and sanitary manner.
Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment in the Isolation ward while patients are hospitalized in the ward
Performs other chores as needed
