The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Data Analyst to serve as a member of the School of Public Health NIH C19 Vaccine research study. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of date management experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting faculty in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Job Summary: The Data Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and making steps to ensure data quality and security, as well as provide ongoing analyses for to meet operational and research goals.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience:
Three years of related experience in data collection, analysis and/or management.
Proficiency with Excel and a Statistical software
Experience with database development, design, and/or management
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Proficiency with a statistical software (SAS, Stata, SPSS, R, or similar)
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Education:
- Masters degree in statistics or another data science.
Preferred Experience:
Experience PHP
Programming experience
Experience integrating multiple databases/data sources
Experience creating, maintaining, and managing databases.
Experience handling large data sets for research studies.
Experience designing and maintaining databases for longitudinal data.
Experience with data analysis for longitudinal or cohort studies.
Experience preparing reports and presentations of data and analyses.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience designing and managing data in RedCAP
Database design for clinical research and cohort studies
Programming/coding proficiency in statistical software
Savvy importing/exporting data between various systems/platforms
Experience working with diverse individuals and communities
Job Responsibilities:
Design and develop data management tools
Develop policies and trainings for data quality and assurance
Maintain data and databases integrity
Provide ongoing data analyses for operational objectives and research goals
Aid in developing research questions and approaches
Advise and aid in design for research strategies
Performs other duties as assigned.
