Job Description Summary:
This position performs business process analysis and user support for the Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS) Services department, Single Sign-on and Workday. This includes providing the design, development and modification of financial accounting functions, assessing, developing and implementing business processes incorporating FAMIS functionality, improving user knowledge, preparing documentation and communications and providing business process assistance related to TAMUS financial accounting and administrative functions. Producing outlines which can be used to develop programs for computer applications, potentially writing programs/queries for the solution to problems, analyzing and documenting overall system concepts. This position must be able to read basic computer programs and understand basic logic and flow.
-Provide customer support for the System Enterprise Application departments' application via telephone, email and office visits.
-Implement new processes and system modules for customers, test interface data, provide support to production control staff.
-Code basic queries and perform analysis according to specifications defined by customers and senior developers, then test and verify the results.
-Prepare user and procedural documentation to be used by customers and staff. Prepare newsletters, knowledge-based articles, user manuals and reporting databases.
-Train customers and FAMIS staff members on FAMIS software application functionality and best practices.
-Meet with customers to determine requirements for system development and enhancements.
-Follow policies, procedures and standards. Recommend and implement changes and additions as necessary.
-Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Two years of business oriented application development/support experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications.
-Experience with computer systems development and /or support.
-Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
-Ability to meet with users to gather and document system requirements.
Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems as major/minor. Masters Degree. Texas A&M University System central Business Office and Departmental Business Office operations experience. Basic computer programming skills and/or knowledge. Presentation and training experience. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Knowledge of FAMIS, SSO, Canopy, and/or Workday. Mainframe and/or web programming experience in one or more business oriented languages. Experience in: Web design using WordPress, HTML, ASP.NET, C#, Visual Studio and Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, Service Now: Media/video training products.
-Occasional travel and work outside scheduled hours.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
