Under general direction of the Director of Testing for the Innovation Proving Ground (IPG) located at the RELLIS Campus, candidate will perform complex testing and evaluation activities that are necessary to support various research activities.
Duties include installation, removal, and maintenance of all instrumentation used in the conduct of the research (e.g., range telemetry, cameras, data capture systems, etc.) The Technologist III will also advise the use of this technology to support platform research. These duties involve multiple projects in a matrixed fashion spanning the Texas A&M Experiment Station (TEES), the Texas A&M College of Engineering (COE) and other external partners across differing technology domains. Provides direct support to the TEES Army Futures Command (AFC) strategic effort and all other testing activities performed as a service.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Personally adhere to and enforce all safety procedures and policies, to include but no limited to hot work, confined space, and lockout/tag-out.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate and maintain hardware and electrical systems.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation.
Lead repairs and calibration of electrical equipment and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of electro-mechanical equipment.
Install, implement and maintain new control systems as needed.
Responsible for completing work orders and all other assignments as assigned.
Utilizes independent judgement and works effectively without supervision.
Communicates well with employees from all areas of the facility.
Plans and executes all engineering and maintenance duties with proper and appropriate standards and techniques.
Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or construction science.
Electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience.
Military science experience.
Electronics and data analysis experience.
- OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred
