Ryder System Director of Business Development (FMS) in DALLAS, Texas
The Director Business Development (DBD) position is a consultative role in addition to product sales. This position must understand the customer's business in order to meet their needs and act as coordinator for all division services in soliciting new customer relationships. The expanded role coupled with increased sales responsibilities is an exceptional challenge to any seasoned sales professional. The Director will maintain responsibility for the account for a period of time until the account is turned over to the Director of National Accounts.
Candidates can be located in Kansas or Missouri as well.
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Transportation is required
A minimum of 10 (ten) years of sales or business development experience is required
Masters degree preferred
Proven record of success in the application of the consultative sales process
Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to generate impact at all levels within Ryder and customer organization
Must have expert knowledge of transportation industry to include general principles and logistics of freight movement
Knowledge of industry leaders, terms, policies and industry-specific financial practices
Knowledge of competitors capabilities and activities
Responsibilities will include:
- identifying, qualifying and closing sales opportunities and assemble needed resources and lead the team sales process
