KPMG is currently seeking a Risk Management (RM) Technology Managing Director to lead its IT Risk Office function.


  • Apply authoritative and unique command of policy, oversight, and reporting activities across KPMG's technology processes and initiatives; specifically: maintain technology policies and standards that address business, contractual, international, and regulatory requirements for the US firm and the Americas region; define and monitor technology risk metrics and supporting processes to help measure and monitor the firm's technology risks and the efficacy of the firm's technology policies and standards in accordance with ERM metrics and risk appetite

  • Partner with Chief Information Security Officer, IT leaders, functional and senior leadership, combining 'soft hands', exceptional executive presence, to maintain relevant technology risk scenarios and associated control objectives, based on COBIT and other relevant frameworks, for the relevant technical domains across the federated technology estate; effectively challenge the design and operating effectiveness of operating management's internal controls across technology and monitor evidence of internal control effectiveness and related remediation efforts

  • Perform horizon scanning, risk sensing & enterprise risk assessment and analysis as well as work with peers and stakeholders to determine firm's risk profile across emerging risks and trends; leverage risk and control data points (i.e., GRC suite) to identify pervasive issues and trending

  • Accountability for a team, including responsibility for the group's organization, recruiting, coaching, and mentoring of staff; People management responsibility for multiple senior and/or intermediate level professionals (10+), determining efficient allocation and maximum utilization of resources across the teams

  • Proactive role in establishing and driving achievement of the organization's strategic goals, objectives and priorities as aligned to those of RM, applying a broad understanding of the overarching principles of RM combined with an understanding of the firm's business, related objectives and the competitive environment within which the firm's client-facing functions operate; primary contributor to innovation and continued improvement of the IT and Operational risk processes and guidance, materials, and tools; create high financial, client value, efficiency impact to the organization

  • Strategic responsibility to lead multiple complex projects, process or programs that impact the broader firm; evaluate courses of action within those projects or processes by applying understanding of business and RM objectives to complex circumstances; and act as senior executive level escalation point, to help business expectations, goals and objectives are met for all clients


  • Demonstrated ability to influence, educate and interact with diverse leaders and teams across the organization; ability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards the organization's goals, fostering efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions

  • Fifteen years of related work experience in risk management, information security, technology audit, back office operations, and/or technology-related consulting; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

  • Ability to manage multiple complex concurrent programs, applying deep expertise to make concrete decisions that impact the Risk organization and the firm; address emerging opportunities and determine how organization should be organized/staffed to realize them

  • Lead and enhance execution of strategic initiatives for the organization

  • Exceptional verbal/written communication, collaboration, negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork

  • Ability to travel as necessary
