The Role

Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines Transactional Aftermarket organization is seeking to hire a Commercial Serviceable Assets (CSA) CFM senior product manager. Responsibilities of this position include analyzing, acquiring and managing serviceable inventory across the CFM product line and providing timely support, delivery and service to our customers.

The selected candidate will work to achieve an appropriate inventory parts mix to optimize sales and profit while aggressively managing improvement in inventory turnover. The incumbent will also partner directly with the associate director, Inventory and Acquisitions and product, purchasing and sales team members to develop serviceable part inventory forecasts.

Specific accountabilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing business plans to purchase gas turbine engines, modules or inventory lots for teardown, overhaul and resale.

  • Developing strategic plans that enable CSA to grow our business/market share and enhance our competitive advantage.

  • Working special projects and analyses to burn down current inventory levels while fully supporting market requirements.

  • Managing the Excess and Obsolete process in concert with all Global Service Partner (GSP) businesses to mitigate write-off risk and identify sales opportunities.

  • Providing cross-functional guidance to a group of technical, quality, purchasing, sales, finance and operations employees to ensure appropriate requirements are planned and executed in order to meet team objectives.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of work experience with aftermarket operations in the Aerospace/Aviation industry

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or other advanced degree in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics and/or business field of study with 7+ years of relevant work experience

Work experience inclusive of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) aftermarket operations and/or spare part management within the airline/aerospace/defense industries

A deep understanding of gas turbine engine manuals, service bulletins (SBs), airworthiness directives (ADs) and engine inspection records

Familiarity with SAP and Business Warehouse applications

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Internal (UTC) candidates must be Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Associate certified and have demonstrated experience utilizing ACE tools to achieve measurable business results

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics and/or business field of study.
