Job Summary:

The Account Executive will develop new business, both in and outside of our current customer base, showing customers how Jones Sign Company can support their business growth through signage and branding using both interior and exterior programs. You will focus on local, regional, national, and large venue design build accounts and projects. The right candidate will have a drive for success while maintaining a strategic approach and a strong business acumen.

Duties and Expectations:

  • Identify, develop, and sell sign and branding solutions in the national commercial marketplace; own the full sales process from prospecting to closing

  • Acquire new customers through direct sales techniques, cold calling and business-to-business marketing visits

  • Develop new business that meets targeted margin levels; coordinate with internal sources to manage pricing conflicts; qualify business opportunities

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments during the new business process

  • Transition the new account effectively to the appropriate project manager

  • Review prepared contracts for business negotiated to ensure requirements

  • Provide accurate and reliable sales forecasts in accordance with company plan; communicate with all appropriate levels of staff regarding business activities

  • Maintain prospect list and data relevant to projects; save documentation pertinent to assigned accounts

  • Develop/maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s services, products and pricing structure

  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date understanding of market behavior and competitive trends

  • Participate in trade shows and other opportunities to promote company and corporate products

  • Ability to travel to meet company and clients’ needs (15%-20%)

Education, Experience, and Specific Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, entrepreneurship, construction management, architectural or structural design, or related field preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 5+ yrs. experience in Business to Business sales experience is a plus

  • Experience selling directly to high-level executives and cold calling multi-levels of many different organizations

  • Knowledge of the sign industry is preferred, but demonstrated sales success is more important than industry knowledge

  • Formal sales methodology & training experience a plus (Miller Heiman, Strategic, Spin, Relationship, Action Selling, Dale Carnegie, Black Belt Selling, Solution Selling, Sandler Sales, etc.)

  • Documented, proven history of aggressively growing sales and exceeding quotas annually

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Ability to work independently

  • Experience with strategic sales and account management

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication

  • Top notch communication and presentation skills with service driven professionalism

  • PC proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Able to used technology to effectively manage customer interactions and outcomes (mobile devices, etc.)

  • Experience with a CRM; Job Scope experience is ideal
