Description The innovative team at Robert Half Finance is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to help further their efforts in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry on a full-time basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to meet deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Efficient in ERP systems
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
