Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Connected Technologies (CT) Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Telematics Engineer Future Cockpit.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the planning and development of future generation cockpit systems.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will develop the underlying technology to support Connected Technologies objective to deliver amazing and personal cockpit experiences that are beautifully designed, relevant, intuitive, convenient and predictive.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the advanced development of future generation cockpit architecture: supporting development of vision, strategic planning to tactical planning, execution and validation

  • Research and identify new opportunities for CT to innovate and improve future customer satisfaction by bringing innovative features into the future cockpit

  • Development and technical evaluation (benchmarking) of proof of concepts (hardware and software) with target to give design recommendation for future generation cockpit architecture

  • Alignment of system and architecture development work with key stakeholders in the company to deliver on that vision, e.g. Sales, Product Planning, CT partner teams, affiliates, etc.

  • Creation of product requirements documents for production-intent products based on an intimate knowledge of related technologies

  • Drive future customer satisfaction by creating a simple, intuitive and consistent customer experience

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related area

  • Understanding of automotive cockpit related hardware and software stacks

  • Product Owner experience and an agile mindset

  • High motivation, can-do attitude, eagerness to learn

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work in fast-paced teams with quick decision making

  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position

Added bonus if you have

  • Master’s in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related or an MBA

  • Experience developing automotive system architectures or advanced product development

  • Experience in Infotainment Hardware, Embedded Software and Off-board Software Development

  • Experience with MS PowerPoint

  • Experience delivering presentations

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or a related certification
