As a Shift Supervisor, you will assists the Site Supervisor with day-to-day sector operations that include e training, operations, and direct supervision of Transportation Officers/Stationary guards. In the absence of the Site Supervisor, the Shift Supervisor is the direct link between G4S USA and the client's first line supervision/management team. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for seeing that the client receives the level and quality of security service desired and that the directives issued by the client are passed to the individuals responsible for providing that security.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

Assign specific tasks and directly supervise the Transportation Officers and Stationary Guards monitoring performance

Provide oversight to shift schedules; interface with client supervisors, G4S Operations Manager, and the Fleet Manager as needed; assist with evaluation of Officers; clearly articulate directives, policies, and procedures to subordinate personnel

Works closely with Site Supervisor to ensure that all operational requirements are performed in compliance with the Performance Work Statement, state, federal, and G4S USA policies and procedures

Maintain frequent communications with Site Supervisor and with the client's 1st level management/supervisors concerning operational and personnel issues

Assist with Officer performance evaluations; provide periodic performance evaluations to Site Supervisor

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years driving experience

  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in any combination of the following:

  • Law enforcement officer

  • Military policeman

  • Security officer engaged in functions related to detaining civil, administrative detainees

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Active listening skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States

  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).

  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling, some lifting.
