Job Summary: The machine operators will have the duties of assuring that all production and assembly machinery are running effective and efficient in the production warehouse. Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Assure all machines and equipment are operating effective and efficiently at the beginning of each shift. Supervise AG PACK bagger machine. All machine operators must report to duty one (1) hour before the rest of the production staff. Supervise that the quality and weight is met to specifications . Will inspect daily all machines and equipment to assure they are clean and in compliance with safety hazards. Supply machines with the proper bags and clips, or rolls of stickers. Demonstrate and Enforce Health and Safety: Ensure machinery and personal protective equipment is well maintained, readily available and is properly utilized. Report any noncompliance issues or unsafe situations/equipment to supervisor immediately. Proactively safeguard and uphold the health and safety and wellbeing of all employees. Must follow GMP s. Enforce and actively participate in general housekeeping duties and debris removal in order to reduce risk of potential accidents and hazardous conditions. Other Responsibilities and Duties: Make sure machine is running at a 98 (%) percent efficiency. Make sure the quality of product meets client standards. Make sure bags meet weight specifications. Must notify supervisor of any inefficiency with machine or personnel. All other duties as assigned by supervisor. Enforce and actively participate in general housekeeping duties and debris removal in order to reduce risk of potential accidents and hazardous conditions. Job Specifications: Some experience with machinery and assembly production. Must be punctual and reliable, and have reliable transportation to and from work. Must be able to work various work shifts, mornings, afternoons, and evenings (there are no set schedules). Ability to multi-task and perform several duties at the same time. Must notify supervisor of any repairs or problems with any machinery or assembly production. Must be able to adjust machine to seal bags properly and adjust to proper air pressure after a reasonable amount of time (2 months) on the job. Must be able to communicate well with others and follow directions. Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform all function of the job. Physical demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; stand use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust and focus. Working Conditions: Ability to work flexible shifts, such as morning or evenings, including Saturdays and Sundays. Noise level is minimal. Ability to stand for long periods at a time (with breaks in between). Ability to work with vibration, noise, heat, cold and moving parts. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be punctual and reliable. Skills/Qualifications: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Good with hands and ability to assemble. Good decision making skills relating to when stop machine, reprogram machine and when to change bags. Mechanical ability to switch out parts on machinery. Experience in grading & sorting produce preferred but not required. Experience with AG PACK scales and machinery preferred but not required. Good attendance habits. Performance Standards: Accomplishments of annual goals established by supervisor and management.
