Integrative Emergency Services Data Scientist in Fort Worth, Texas

Position Summary

The Data Scientist is responsible for deriving efficient, streamlined, and data-driven analysis to inform high-level operational decision-making in clinical quality, innovation, research, operations, and revenue cycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Overall responsibilities

  • Support and assist the development of new IES projects and initiatives, research grants, and other key operational decisions using creative data mining strategies.

  • Identify areas for new processes as well as quality improvement, coordinating with other teams as needed.

  • Architect and present clear data-driven reports to the operations team and executive leadership

  • Design, code, test, and aggregate results from SQL queries to provide information to users.

  • Acquire, import, and organize data from primary and secondary data sources. Examples of sources include EMR reports, raw data dumps from hospital clients, revenue cycle reports.

  • Use advanced mathematical and computer science skills to analyze vast pools of data under the limited guidance.

  • Transition and automate existing manual data workflows to enable ongoing real time access to analytics and metrics.

  • Develop additional clinical dashboards and metrics for analyzing productivity, clinical quality, and revenue cycle.

Job Requirements/Specifications

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare

  • 2+ years of experience in data mining, data architecture

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL query design, scripting, and execution (MSSQL preferred)

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and MS Office

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.


  • EPIC Clarity experience and/or certification

  • SQL Certification

  • Experience with Business Intelligence Software (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, ETL Frameworks)

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.)
