Cook Children’s Health Care System is looking for a Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. As the director, you will lead a collaborative effort and a variety of programs, education and services that foster a culture of inclusion, respect, diversity, and equity at Cook Children’s. Your work supports the D, E & I vision that everyone at Cook Children’s will commit to inclusion, diversity and equity in every interaction in order to strengthen the Cook Children’s culture.

Your work will help Cook Children’s to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all we serve.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, D&I or other related field. Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in Diversity, Human Resources, Training and/or Organizational Development with specific experience working in and leading inclusion, diversity and/or equity initiatives

  • Accreditation by SHRM, PHR, Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators, Society for Marketing Professional Services, or similar organization preferred

  • Ability to speak and read Spanish is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience managing and consulting on diversity related employee relations situations

  • Ability to develop practical, systemic D&I strategies and execution plans in a variety of clinical and/or business environments

  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to be respectful of individual and cultural differences is required. Experience working with underrepresented and underserved populations

  • Able to manage and navigate situations involving difference diplomatically and professionally

  • Strong project management skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and written/oral communication skills

  • Ability to design and deliver effective presentations

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information

  • Demonstrated experience achieving work through partnership with other departments, groups or individuals

  • Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships at all levels of the organization
