Commercial Banking (CB) serves more than 30,000 clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion. Wholesale Loan Services Mortgage Finance Operations (WLS MF Ops) exists within Commercial Banking and provides servicing functions for Mortgage Finance. These functions include account administration, collateral management, funding, paydown processing, customer service, billing, account reconciliations, quality control, and exception management. This role resides within our Funding and Shipping departments and supports the team's responsibility collateral management, 3rd party collateral management, and client funding / paydown servicing. This position collaborates and partners with the WLS management/functional teams, Legal and other functional support groups (Compliance, Audit, Finance, Technology etc.); Mortgage Finance Business Partners; external clients and service vendors utilized to support the LOB.

This position will report to the Loan Servicing Manager - Funding. All funding requests must be processed within 1 hour of receipt from customers in adherence to our 1 hour SLA. All customer requests received within established cut-off times must be processed on same business day. There is no backlog.

This position will be responsible for the processing of funding and paydown requests from Mortgage Finance customers via Mortgage Finance Online (MFO) website (client facing website). The Loan Servicing Associate is responsible for the daily balancing of Mortgage Finance customers' funding and operating accounts and providing daily end of day activity reports to Mortgage Finance customers. They are responsible for the daily management of each assigned Mortgage Finance customer facility. The Loan Servicing Associate ensures that all customer SLAs are met daily. They will be responsible for identifying, researching and resolving routine discrepancies in their daily work activities. They are the primary daily interface with the Mortgage Finance customer.

Exempt position - 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Shift requirement

Core Responsibilities:

  • T hink strategically and tactically to design an effective process improvement roadmap/approach with the flexibility to adjust to new innovations, regulations, and priorities; partner with managers to rollout

  • Determine new/revised work techniques and process improvements and lead special projects as required

  • Manage work activities of team members which could include activities across Account Administration and Mortgage Finance Sales Support; may also include determining hours of work and workload based on current priorities

  • Provide ongoing assistance to team members on a daily basis

  • Participate in system testing, as needed, which may occur during non-business hours - write test scripts, test enhancements, test fixes, user checkouts

  • Procedures - Partner with specific experts, management, the Procedures Team, RCSA, and Change Control Team with the creation and updates of departmental procedures

  • Issue resolution and escalation handling - ensure client complaints are reported and logged, maintain sensitive clients listings, engage and follow up with clients or market partners on escalations/issues, summarize key escalations for use in risk event write ups or CB Controls escalation write ups

  • Interact directly with business partners, 3rd party custodians and clients to provide operational details on upcoming transactions

  • Ability to support the servicing for the most complex loan arrangements independently as required and potentially maintain a minimum production portfolio

  • Provide production training to new hires/teammates

  • Assist with coaching and development of staff

  • Assist in conjunction with the manager 1:1s for staff

  • Assist with managing workflow and the completion of timely and accurate work required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required

  • 5+ years' experience with accounting and collateral management. Proven ability to work independently with excellent judgment.

  • Must have experience reading and interpreting loan documentation or related analytical experience dealing with documentation.

  • Extensive experience managing high volume workflow and account assignments to be in compliance with required SLA.

  • Extensive experience in the approval and release of required agency forms submitted by client.

  • Must be a team-oriented individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.

  • Must be highly organized with ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Intermediate knowledge in performance metrics and client invoices.

  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
