Structural Dynamics Engineer
Bell is seeking a self-motivated Structural Dynamics Engineer to join Bell’s Innovation Team and support the development of new and novel products and platforms. The dynamic capabilities are associated with the integration of vehicles in urban environments, including air taxi and product transportation/delivery. This position will be part of a diverse team of engineers capable of executing in a fast paced environment.
Tasks include but not limited to:
Conduct analysis in airframe vibration, passive vibration control and reduction, and dynamiccompatibility of air vehicle components and subsystems.
Finite element analyses of components and complete airframe assemblies.
Analytical support of engineering investigations.
Resolution of dynamics problems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering -or equivalent aerospace design discipline – is required. A master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience conducting dynamic analysis and dynamic testing of aircraft structures
Experience with NASTRAN Finite Element Analysis and with FFT spectral analyzers is required.
Experience is preferred in airframe vibration analysis, modal analysis, passive/active vibration control and reduction, and dynamic compatibility of air vehicle components and subsystems.
A strong understanding of FE theory is desired as well as understanding of rotor dynamics.
Also preferred is experience with structural dynamics test techniques include impulse (Rap) testing and familiarity with FFT spectral analyzers.
Familiarity with FAA regulations is desired.
