Position: QC Technician Department: Quality Control Location: Fresno, TX Reports To: QC Supervisor/Process Lead Summary: The QC Technician is responsible for assuring the quality of Foamglas Insulation meets our customer expectations/product specifications. Additional, responsibilities include inspection of in-process parameters to assure the production line is in-control and capable of producing the quality specifications for Foamglas Insulation. Possess strong work ethics to follow procedures and contain non-conforming goods to assure we are meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Follow and enforce all safety rules, regulations, procedures, training and initiatives. Perform compressive strength, thermal conductivity, and surface penetration testing on finished Foamglas® Insulation. Accurately document and report all results of testing. Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and packaged finished goods. Accurately document and report all findings from inspections. Perform Residual Stress Testing on cured products. Accurately document and report all findings from inspections. Collect samples of ground batch from each mill as required and perform all visual and physical inspections or tests as specified. Accurately document and report all findings and results. Conduct other testing and experimentation as required on a special project basis. Accurately document and report all findings and results. Placing product on hold when necessary. Monitor and report unusual or suspect material, product, or equipment issues Clean and maintain tar pot for compressive strength testing. Maintain good housekeeping conditions in all working areas and Lab/QC work areas. Skills and Abilities Must be able to read, write, and speak English, bi-lingual Spanish desired Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions Must possess strong communication and organizational skills Must have accountability and ownership for actions Must have good attention to detail Must have the ability to multi-task Must work well in a team environment Must be self-motivated to work independently and meet targets Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations Skills Schedule Rotating Weekly (Day/Night Shift), Every other Saturday off First Week (3.5 Days), Second Week (3.5 Mixed Day/Night) Computer and Software Competencies Must be able to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument basic data entry Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications Education and/or Experience Minimum high school diploma or state approved GED equivalent Background in continuous manufacturing desired Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US Must be tobacco, drug and alcohol free Must be able to learn the responsibilities of the position Additional Required Training Able to interact cooperatively with hourly and salary employees at all levels of the organization All annual safety and role specific training, as required by the nature of this position
