Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently hiring a Legal Intern based in Houston, Texas.
In this role, you will support the Legal Compliance group with research activities and special projects to steward progress in driving a high integrity culture.
Research various compliance matters for Compliance Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.
Monitor updates on global compliance laws such as FCPA, UK Anti-Bribery Act and GDPR
Assist in triaging global Code of Conduct questionnaire responses with oversight of Compliance Counsel
Assist Compliance Counsel with internal investigations
Assist with updating compliance policies
Support compliance training initiatives
Perform special projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required
Current law school student with the ability and dedication to work in the legal field while pursuing their J.D.
Knowledge of legal terminology and processes preferably relating to corporate compliance.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive matters
Superb interpersonal skills (necessary to regularly interact with legal department attorneys, senior management and other compliance professionals)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated research ability
Highly organized and attentive to details
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
