Successful candidate will work with subject matter experts to develop/deliver 3D models for VR/AR projects. This position requires attention to detail and follow-up on all delegated assignments. Applicant must be well versed in industry standard 3D modeling programs and tools. They will also be required to have a good spatial skills and a well honed sense of color and design needed to succeed in this role.
Partner with engineering teams, relevant team members, and customer representatives to define the priorities for 3D Models/VR/AR projects and to coordinate completion with product release dates.
Create and manage digital assets
Follow design guidelines, asset naming conventions, and other technical constraints
Create textures and UV maps
Optimize, refine, and correct model geometry
Keep abreast of latest developments in 3D design, capture and modeling tools, and technologies
- Bachelor’ Degree and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.
An eye for detail and good visualization skills
Ability to take feedback and make changes require
Extensive knowledge of model design, rigging, skinning, etc.
Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
Strong knowledge of English grammar and usage, writing/organizational/teaching techniques, as well as a demonstrated ability to analyze technical information
Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer)
Preferred Additional Skills:
Top Secret/SCI clearance
Adobe Products (Captivate, FrameMaker, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.)
Working knowledge of Blender, Maya, Pixyz Studio, Unity, and KeyShot
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
