CDM Smith Intermediate Procurement Specialist in Houston, Texas
The Intermediate Procurement Specialist conducts procurements, administers subcontracts and purchase orders to support project and indirect functions. Works under general supervision.
Performs project and/or indirect procurement of goods and services of basic to intermediate complexity, as directed by project management, in support of client projects, unit or corporate group needs by negotiating subcontracts, blanket purchase agreements or filling purchase orders. Ensures that all procurement is in compliance with government regulations, contractual terms (if applicable), company policies and procedures. Ensures subcontractors and vendors adhere to negotiated procurement contracts.
Performs vendor lifecycle management. Performs vendor onboarding including: supplier prequalification review (vendor risk analysis, etc.); obtaining required vendor credentials; reviewing vendor credentials. Manages vendor’s ongoing compliance with SLAs as well as other contractual requirements. Upon termination of vendor relationship, terminates vendor in vendor management system.
Confers with appropriate staff on issues relating to subcontracts performance vendor delivery, approval and payment of vendor invoices.
Assists project management staff in the planning for required procurement support in proposals and contracts.
Work requires verbal and written skills, ability to interact with varying levels of staff, as well as subcontractors and vendors.
Requires ability to oversee multiple projects and comply with internally imposed deadlines.
Travel: Limited local, national, or international travel may be required.
Environmental Factors: Daily exposure to computer screens for extended periods of time.
