We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our West Little York facility. This job entails ensuring that the facilities, layout and machinery used daily to conduct normal operations runs to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventive maintenance, managing mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment as well as managing employees, budgets and cost reporting. This position requires a commitment to work in some cases extended hours during busy periods as well as being a team player dedicated to perform other related activities throughout each day.

Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policy, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
Minimize severity or frequency of accidents of contractors and maintenance personnel through risk identification process.
Adhere to a weekly maintenance schedule.
Address concerns with the Maintenance manager in a timely manner.
Review and close out work assignments using E-Maint platform when applicable.
Maintain schedule compliance and priority.
Complete maintenance jobs in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency.
Streamline associated repair costs and job execution.
Ensure prompt repairs by responding to emergency breakdowns.
Maintain accurate data on repaired jobs including consumption of tools, materials, and man hours among others.
Review equipment history files.
Ensure accurate recorded histories in work order completions.
Report maintenance performance during major overhauls.
Prioritized work orders as per emergencies and facility priorities.
Make sure that maintenance jobs are in accordance with all corporate policies and legislated regulations.
Ensure housekeeping, productivity, and quality of work standards are maintained, most especially within the mechanical maintenance department.
Aim and strive to achieve 98% reliability on all maintenance jobs.
Investigate, provide and implement corrective measures for near misses and all safety incidents.
Repair and inspect overhead cranes and hoist and other overhead lifting equipment to ensure equipment is compliant with manufacturers standards
Coordinate repairs and inspections of overhead cranes and hoist equipment
Interface with customers to ensure full customer satisfaction
Communicate between customers, management and other technicians to ensure schedules, evaluations and repairs are performed
Minimum 5 years’ combined experience as a Maintenance Technician
Ability to work under pressure
Significant experience with electrical control circuits for 3 phase and single phase power
Strong experience regarding equipment modifications, including VFD retrofits, radio remote installs, motor and gear replacements, hydraulic to electrical braking retrofits and bar to festoon conversions
PLC knowledge a plus
Ability to read electrical schematics and trouble shoot electrical equipment
Machining and welding skills a plus
Mechanical gearing knowledge
Experience in solid state/ magnetic motor control AC/DC
Basic understanding of the E-Maint Platform or any maintenance tracking software
Proven communication, organizational and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (word, excel, outlook)
Strong problem solving and analytical ability
Ability and experience negotiating with vendors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at a supervisory level
Good attendance and positive attitude a Must
Ability to manage conflict
Ability to optimize work processes
Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to set and meet priorities and deadlines
